1INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Faith Word ("App", "we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use Faith Word and how that information is used.
By using this App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2INFORMATION WE COLLECT
2.1 App and Usage Data
Faith Word processes information needed to provide Bible reading, content display, and token-based features in both Swahili and English languages.
What We Process:
- App usage events (for example, screen views and feature interactions)
- Bible content access and reading actions (open, search, bookmark, and related events)
- Language preference and user interface interactions
- Token balance events (spend, reward, restore, and sync actions)
- Basic technical data such as app version, OS version, and device type
What We Do Not Collect Directly:
- Your personal messages or private communications
- Your contacts list
- Your call logs
- Your exact GPS location
- Your passwords for third-party services
- Religious or prayer history beyond app usage metrics
2.2 Device Key for Token Sync
To protect token balance across app reinstalls or cleared local data, the App generates a technical device key and uses it with our token-state backend API.
This key is a device fingerprint string used only for token-state lookup and sync. It is not used to access your personal files or accounts.
2.3 Crash and Performance Data
We use Firebase services to collect diagnostics data (for example, crashes and performance issues) so we can improve app stability and reliability.
2.4 Ad-Related Data
We use Unity Ads for rewarded ads. Unity may process ad interaction and device-related data according to Unity's privacy terms.
3HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We Use Data To:
- Provide Bible reading and content display features in Swahili and English
- Manage token balance, including token spending and ad rewards
- Restore or verify token balance through the token-state API
- Run version checks and display mandatory update prompts when required
- Analyze usage trends and fix app bugs/crashes
- Deliver rewarded ads that support free app usage
We Do Not Use Data To:
- Sell your personal data
- Collect sensitive personal identity documents
- Use your data for purposes not described in this policy
- Track your spiritual practices or beliefs beyond app usage
4TOKEN SYSTEM AND BACKEND SYNC
4.1 Why Token Sync Exists
Faith Word uses a token system for selected features. Token state is synced with our backend so clearing app data does not reset server-tracked token history.
4.2 Startup Behavior
- On splash startup, the app checks token status with the backend.
- If the app starts offline, token balance is temporarily set to zero until server confirmation is available.
- When connectivity is restored, the app synchronizes and applies the confirmed token balance.
5DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
5.1 Storage Locations
- On Device: App preferences and cached state used for user experience
- Backend API: Token-state records required for balance verification and restore
- Third Parties: Analytics, crash diagnostics, and ad-delivery data handled by Firebase and Unity
5.2 Security Practices
- Network communication uses HTTPS where supported
- Access to app data is limited to required app functionality
- We review implementation details as features evolve
6THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
6.1 Google Firebase
6.2 Unity Ads
7PERMISSIONS EXPLANATION
7.1 Internet Access
- Required for Bible content streaming and online services
- Required for token-state synchronization and version checks
- Required for analytics, crash diagnostics, and rewarded ads
7.2 Notification Permission (If Enabled)
- Used for app notifications where supported and enabled by the user
8YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
- You may stop using the app at any time
- You may clear local app data or uninstall the app
- You may use device-level privacy and ad settings
- You may contact us for privacy-related requests
Important: Clearing local app data removes on-device data, but server-synced token records may still exist for restoration and abuse prevention workflows.
9CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Faith Word is a Bible reading app available to all ages. However, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
10INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Third-party providers such as Firebase and Unity may process data in different countries according to their own infrastructure and legal terms.
11CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product improvements, legal changes, or policy clarifications. The date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
13ACCEPTANCE
By using Faith Word, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
